GEN FREDERICK CARLTON WEYAND

(September 15, 1916 – February 10, 2010)

On Wednesday, February 10, 2011, General Frederick C. Weyand, USA, Ret, died of natural causes at the Kahala Nui retirement residence in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was 93 years old. GEN Weyand served as the 28th U.S. Army Chief of Staff and was the last commander of all U.S. forces in Vietnam. In 2000, GEN Weyand was the recipient of the Association of the United States Army's highest award – the George Catlett Marshall Medal.

GEN Weyand served on the U.S. Army Cadet Corps Board of Advisors from 2004 to 2010. He will be sorely missed by the U.S. Army Cadet Corps community.
